Speaker
Sonia's work is informed by her own journey through burnout, grief, profound life transitions, spiritual transformation, and the ongoing process of making meaning from life's most difficult experiences. Having spent years supporting individuals in ministry, caregiving, leadership, and community settings, she is particularly passionate about helping people move from self-criticism toward self-understanding and from survival-based patterns toward greater freedom, connection, and capacity.
A central theme of Sonia's work is the belief that many of the patterns people judge most harshly in themselves are not signs of brokenness, weakness, or failure. They are often evidence of intelligent adaptations developed in response to pain, uncertainty, loss, overwhelm, or unmet needs. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with me?" Sonia invites people to ask, "What was this adaptation trying to do for me?" Through this lens, self-judgment can begin to give way to understanding, appreciation, and choice. She believes that healing often begins when we change our relationship to these adaptations. Rather than fighting them, shaming them, or trying to force them away, we can become curious about what they are trying to accomplish. When we understand our adaptations in this way, we can begin working with them rather than against them, creating greater awareness, choice, and freedom.
Sonia's greatest joy is being a mother of three, lives in the Atlanta area, and is the founder of Land of the Living.
